Fleece selection, and preparation

IMG_5407In this course you will learn how to skirt, sort, and wash a fleece, in preparation for spinning, or other craft uses. There will be a variety of fleece from  various locally bred  sheep, and our own, so that you can compare the different values of each breed. We will also look at combing, carding, and blending fleece on hand carders, or on a drum carder. This course is suitable for beginners, and those who wish to start exploring the many values, and uses of fleece.

The course will run from 10.30am – 4pm. Please wear suitable old clothing, or bring an apron , as raw fleece is greasy.
